alberta handgun association

Established in 1977, the Alberta Handgun Association (AHA) is dedicated to promoting the ISSF, Olympic and NRA target shooting disciplines of Handgun Competition.  The AHA promotes sportsmanship, safety and collegial competition among all its competitors, coaches and officials. 

 Our organization provides a number of services to our members and member clubs.

These services include:

  • Range Safety Officer certification courses
  • Nationally accredited coaching certification courses
  • Insurance for our members and member clubs
  • Help in starting and developing junior programs in outlying areas
  • High performance training camps for competitive shooters
  • Help in organizing and running learn-to-shoot programs
  • Assistance in running local and high level matches
  • Athlete assistance for high-level athletes
  • Scholarships for members attending post secondary education
